If in some places, the driving age limit is 18, then 18 year olds can rent a car in that place. Although the usual age limit for renting a car is 25.

Car rental Costa Rica companies do credit check. They have to make sure that you are able to pay for the rental. If you have a very bad credit standing, car rental companies may not approve your car rental application.

• The car rental company has the right to deny a rental application. It is important to ask the company directly as to what their requirements are. Car rental companies have varied forms of requirements so it is good to ask them personally.

• Your driving history will be checked. If you have history of driving accidents, car rental companies may deny your car rental application or they may charge you with additional cost.
