This project is considered to be a very risky business since in Costa Rica there is a mind set that art is not a productive business however this project cannot be in better hands. Successful entrepreneur Steve Aronson is the man behind the scenes of this new theater that promises to deliver fun and art in a way that will not only be accessible for the public but can also become more of a mainstream activity and generate enough funds to keep the theater going. The schedule for this opening week promises variety. On Thursday the show called Luz negra which means black light in English will be the first show in this theater. It is a production which merges contemporary dance and the original dance by choreographer Humberto Canessa. This activity is part of the Open Festival of Urban Dance and Art (Festival Abierto de Danza y Arte Urbano also knowns as Fandau in Spanish).
For the weekend there will be a show with puppets that promises to entertain the little ones and transport them to the setting of a very well known tale, Jack and the magic bean stalk. The group that will present this all time favorite is La Bicicleta. This is a very fresh interpretation of the tale which narrates it with funny characters and live music. An option that is to be considered as alternative to TV, electronic games and 3D movies.
On Saturday and Sunday there will also be a space for a show that merges Flamenco a type of dance which is native of Spain but it is also very popular in Argentina and funk and jazz music, the show is called Jam and it is the creation of Ernesto Cabrera and Jamil Jaikel a production which unites Spain and Costa Rica.

The person behind this project is Steve Aronson who is the founder of Britt Café, and if you actually ponder upon the name, although the coffee is Costa Rica, the founder is actually British. During his childhood and teenage years, Aronson would participate in plays and would simply devour all of William Shakespeare´s works because that was his passion. His thirst and passion for the arts is what led him to invest in this theater which for some critics it is a wild idea since there are some who believe and think that art does not pay the bills.
Aronson however does not pay heed to those comments because he is a very successful entrepreneur, just take a look at all the Britt Shops that you see in all the different airports and you will certainly agree that this man has vision. And his vision about art is that “If we can create a way to generate resources so as to support artistic creativity, then we have done our job.”
His faith in this project does not end here he is also planning to incorporate a coffee shop to the theater so as to make the whole experience pleasant from every standpoint. One thing is for sure, if there is anyone with midas touch and the experience and vision enough to make a project flourish, it is Aronson.
The Rock and Roll All Stars Concert is Cancelled
To the detriment of all rock fans, the concert that was programmed for May the 3rd has been canceled. We formerly informed that lately there was a change in the original line-up of the stars that were not only programmed for this concert but were also important figures that the public was expecting to be able to enjoy the presence of. This whole event of the Rock n Roll All Stars Tour starts actually in Paraguay, on the 19th of April. In this event there are important figures that represent the essence of Rock including, Gene Simmons (Kiss); Joe Elliot (Deff Leppard) and Sebastian Bach the original voice of Skid Row. The host of this show is a man who has been in the eye of much controversy and Hollywood gossip, Charlie Sheen.

Besides Costa Rica, Chile was another one of the countries which also decided to cancel this event. According to the producers, they have decided to cancel the whole thing off since there was a major change in the list of artists and this change was going to compromise the public and their interests in the artists that have been announced. As for the public that have already purchased their tickets either physically with cash or online with a credit card. The organizers have announced that they can go ahead and ask for a refund of their money. However it will be done through the major ticket vendor company in Costa Rica called Publitickets and the way and order the refunds will be done will be announced soon.
This is obviously very sad news for all of those who simply wanted to rock the night off in our small country in the middle of the American Continent, but do not despair for there will be other shows and concerts, the show must continue even if it is with other concerts and in another occasion.

If you ask me, I would say practically not much. In fact leading a healthy life is so much cheaper and easier than eating out every day. Believe me, I have done the numbers on this.
If I were to lead a healthy life with abundant veggies and yes some source of protein such as poultry or fish that would be just one third of the budget of what it takes to eat from a take-out every day and at least two meals. And this calculation is done with relatively cheap take-outs around $6 per meal. If you are the foodie who eats out at fancy restaurant those bills might skyrocket. So if you are planning to stay in Costa Rica for longer periods of time it should be a great idea that you start learning how to eat healthily without having to go out everyday and keeping your budget too.
Veggies and fruits in Costa Rica are relatively cheap, you can find them anywhere even in small shops that we call “pulperías” however if you really want to have the Costa Rican experience, I would really like to invite you to what we call the “Feria del Agricultor” namely our Farmer´s Market which takes place on Saturdays in different points throughout the whole country.
You will not regret the experience to be withing whole streets of fresh produce so varied that you would never imagine and so cheap you would want to buy everything.

Bill Clinton held his charge of presidency of the United States of America from 1993 to the 2001. Previously he was governor of the state of Arkansas between 199 years 1983 and. After leaving the White House he created a foundation called William J. Clinton which has the aim to fight against AIDS and also to provide an incentive towards consciousness of climate changes. The ex-president will be scheduled for a talk on the 9th of May at 7pm for the closing of the event.
